BEIJING, April 2 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.08 percent to 3,074.96 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.62 percent lower at 9,586.95 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices reached 967.64 billion yuan (about 136.37 billion U.S. dollars), down from 999.34 billion yuan the previous trading day.
