BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed mixed on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.22 percent to 3,147.74 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.08 percent lower at 9,770.94 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices reached 968.69 billion yuan (136.4 billion U.S. dollars), down from the 1.1 trillion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.
