BEIJING, April 8 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.72 percent to 3,047.05 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.57 percent lower at 9,394.61 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices reached 931.35 billion yuan (about 131.27 billion U.S. dollars), expanding from 917.9 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
